At this week's CeBIT technology fair in Germany,
Software AG has announced its strategy for the
next generation of Big Data management, allowing customers to gain
real-time access to large amounts of data, there by
driving faster business decisions.
Software AG has announced its strategy for the next
generation of Big Data management, up to 1,000 times faster than
current technologies. This will give customers real-time access to
the huge amounts of business information in Big Data, driving
faster business decisions. Real-time visibility into operational
business activities will also enable companies to design new,
innovative and highly flexible business processes. Central to the
strategy is a platform that uses Software AG's BigMemory technology
to rapidly access terabytes of data of any type and from any
source. The platform will also integrate in-stream business event
processing so that customers gain maximum real-time business
intelligence from their Big Data and a unique competitive
advantage.
Software AG's Next-Generation Data Management
Platform is designed to overcome the challenges of managing Big
Data using traditional data management approaches, including the
proliferation of data silos exacerbated by new database types. By
integrating its in-memory and event processing technologies into a
single platform, Software AG will provide the speed, scalability
and flexibility needed to meet changing business requirements. In
addition to enabling rapid access to huge in-memory volumes, the
Next-Generation Data Management platform will interface with
existing databases, a range of new data streams and leading-edge
analytic tools.
"Immediate access to large amounts of data and its
analysis in real time increases transparency enabling quick
decisions and short reaction times. This enables organizations to
respond to market changes immediately and realize significant
competitive advantages. High speed and scalability in
the analysis of large volumes of data is a critical success
factor for companies", said Software AG CEO, Karl-Heinz
Streibich.
Software AG's BigMemory product is currently deployed
at many large enterprise customers for multi-terabyte in-memory use
cases. The company will build on BigMemory with capabilities that
include in-flight processing of event streams and services for data
profiling and aggregation, making real-time business analytics
possible. In addition, the company will enable the processing of
data from all data environments - transactional, analytic,
relational/non-relational, Hadoop/NoSQL and social - in a single
in-memory store.
"We are integrating our Business Events technology
and BigMemory to perform real-time analytics", said Software AG
CTO, Wolfram Jost. "Our vision is to provide an in-memory data
management platform that bridges the needs of transactional
and analytic applications. This approach provides low latency
access to huge volumes of data to both enterprise applications and
analytics and also interfaces with a range of new and legacy data
stores and analytical tools. This provides a bridge between the IT
of today and tomorrow."
