Seven instances go
down, knocking customers offline
CRM services have been disrupted for companies all over the
world after seven of Salesforce's instances went down.
Salesforce said on its status update page, which was also down
for a while, that service from seven of its instances was being
disrupted, - though at the time of publication it was claiming
to have whittled this down to just five.
"Power issues were detected but our technician onsite has
confirmed this has been fixed. We are currently working to restore
the service," the page said at 10.45am BST.
According to Salesforce.com's
status page, the problems started at just three instances at
8.49am BST.
While customers on other instances are having no trouble at all,
the spread of the customers on the affected instances is
worldwide.
A customer in Bangalore
tweeted:
Other customers furiously tweeting the firm included customers
based in Canada, Switzerland, Paris and the UK. Salesforce tweeted
back asking clients to be patient and check in with the status
update page.
At 11.35 BST*, the page said that service had been restored on
NA1 and NA5, but the firm had no estimate on when service would be
restored on the other five affected instances: NA6, CS0, CS3, CS1
and CS12.
The company had not returned a request for comment at the time
of publication. ®
